Libya currently hosts both a significant refugee population and a large number of internally displaced people (IDPs), driven by ongoing political instability, conflict, and recent natural disasters. As of 2024:
Goodwill Caravan has been active in providing emergency aid to Libya following the catastrophic flooding that struck the eastern part of the country in September 2023, which resulted in thousands of deaths and widespread devastation. Our response has focused on urgent relief for families who lost homes and are struggling with basic needs. Partnering with local organizations, Goodwill Caravan has delivered essential items such as food packs, blankets, mattresses, and other life-saving resources to those in isolated and severely affected areas like Derna.
Building on successful past collaborations, Goodwill Caravan will be launching a comprehensive training program in 2025, aiming to provide the necessary skills to refugees to secure employment in the aviation sector. This project aims to go beyond immediate relief, offering long-term, sustainable support to Libyan and Sub-Saharan youth who suffer from high unemployment rates of over 50%.
Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians and Sudanese have fled to Egypt, struggling to rebuild their lives. Our mission is to support their integration and offer hope for a better future.
