Goodwill Caravan is a non-profit humanitarian charity that covers refugee protection projects including emergency aid distributions, sheltering the most vulnerable, and legal and medical support for refugees in the UK and Greece. We are registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales (registration no 1176314).

Goodwill Caravan empower the refugees they support by giving them the skills they will need to become fully functional members of their new societies, whether that is in Greece or other European countries they are relocated to. In doing so we also aim to alleviate the burden on already overstretched public services in host nations such as Greece.

where

We Work

Goodwill Caravan have run emergency protection projects across the world for vulnerable populations, unaccompanied minors and refugees, primarily focusing on Europe.

Libya

Emergency aid distributions took place in Libya in 2018-19. It is hoped that if sufficient funds are raised further aid distributions can take place in Libya during 2021. This is particularly needed in some of the more remote camps.

Germany

Remote legal assistance and help accessing critical medical care has been provided not only in Greece but in Germany too.

France

Goodwill Caravan started life as a project distributing emergency aid in the Calais Jungle refugee camp (2015-16). And we still provide remote support to families who have settled there.

Greece – including the islands

Our team in Greece distributes emergency aid, provides shelter for the most vulnerable, and offers legal and medical support. This work includes getting unaccompanied children released from detention and family reunification cases. We also support our refugees through educational and vocational courses, and with career assistance.

UK

We continue to provide support to refugees settling in this country. Our aim is to support families and young people to integrate and achieve financial independence as quickly as possible, so that they can start to rebuild their lives.

COVID-19 update

Just like the rest of the world we too have felt the harsh effects of the global pandemic, but the refugees we serve have perhaps suffered more than most. Not only is there the risk of disease, but also the reduction in their ability to access crucial services due to the measures in place to curtail the spread of COVID-19. We, like other NGOs, have seen huge cuts in our funding and this has inevitably had an impact on the ground in Greece.

However we are also very proud of how our team has adapted and found new ways of working, so that we can carry on helping the most vulnerable, in the face of this global health crisis. Our aid distributions, education classes, legal and medical services have all carried on, albeit with alterations in place to protect both staff and refugees.
